| Abstract | A few years ago, a commemorative plaque to the memory of Borges was to be put on the facade of the Hotel hotel, where he used to stay when he was coming to Paris. Some doubts came up about what was to be written next to his name: the word poet, or the word writer? In the Inscription, Silvia Baron Supervielle, starting from these doubts develops her reflection about the work of the writer: his germanic root in the argentinian Language, his readings of English authors, his fascination for translation, for Dante, the two facets of his writings,-prose and poetry-which he Liked to unite in the word << magic >>. |
